Analysis of selective laser melting modes of nickel alloys using thermodynamic modeling

Abstract

In this paper the stages of constructing a map of the selective laser melting process for nickel alloys presented: initially, the map was initially constructed using thermodynamic modeling, then refined and empirically verified. The optimal range of linear energy density for nickel alloys is established, regardless of the hatching type. For the nickel alloys considered in this work the curves for porosity, average and maximum pore size on linear energy density in the optimal range are parabolic.
