Fluoroelastomers used for the development of rubber compounds applied in aircraft fuel systems (review)
1Federal State Unitary Enterprise «All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials» of National Research Center «Kurchatov Institute», Moscow, Russia; admin@viam.ru
The paper provides a review of scientific and technical literature on fluoroelastomers that are most promising for manufacturing rubber compounds used in aircraft fuel systems operated at elevated temperatures in contact with fuels and oils. It has been revealed that perfluoroelastomers are the most heat-resistant type of rubber, the service temperature of which can reach 315 °C. It has been established that in the Russian Federation, the most promising grades of fluoroelastomers are produced by JSC «HaloPolymer» and FSUE «Research Institute of Synthetic Rubber» (FSUE «SRIIRS»).
